| The first photos from the set of Lovelace have shown that Sarah Jessica Parker will be wearing dark coloured contact lenses and a wig to play Gloria Steinem.
Having shot to prominence in the 1960s and 1970s Ms Steinem has continued to write books, lecture and campaign for women's rights.
Ms Parker too on the role of the feminist from Demi Moore who bowed out of the film last week when she was admitted to hospital with exhaustion.
The film centres around the adult film star Linda Lovelace, who Ms Steinem wrote extensively about in Ms magazine, which she founded, due to the actress' interaction with her abusive husband.
Ms Parker becomes the latest in a long line of actors who have used coloured contact lenses in order to transform them into the likeness of the character they are portraying.
These include Leonardo Di Caprio as J Edgar Hoover and Viggo Mortensen for the role of Sigmund Freud.
